This mod essentially allows you to display a graphic when you or a target has a specified buff/debuff on them.  For example, want to see when your target is frozen in place more easily?  Want to see when you have Hypothermia?  Want a big flashing "SILENCED" on your screen when you're silenced by anything?  This mod can do it!

Let's walk through two examples.  The first will be displaying a "SILENCE" on your screen when you're silenced, the other will be showing a snowflake on your screen when your target is under a freeze effect.

Part 1: Silence

To access Power Auras, simply type /powa.  You'll see the Power Auras window with a lot of empty boxes.  Let's go to New to create a new effect.

A window will open up that will let you edit the effect.  The top 2/3 or so contains information on the graphic itself.  Scroll through the textures by using the Texture slider.  The Silence graphic should be #39 (as of typing this).  If that's not it, just keep searching until you find it, or use a different graphic.

We'd probably like to use a warning sort of color.  The little box on the left underneath the graphic itself is for the color.  Click that, and pick a color that will make it stand out for you.  I used a bright red.

The rest of the sliders should be relatively self explanatory.  Feel free to move them around to see how it changes the graphic.  Find a good spot on your screen for the graphic and set the size to whatever you want.  I use size of 76%, position X of 0, and position Y of 79.

Activation

The bottom panels is where it gets a bit more complicated.  I'll go through these one by one.  "Activation by" is simple.  This is the type of event that will trigger the graphic showing.  In our case, Silence effects are all Debuffs, so we select Debuff.

Friendly Target means that the effect must be on a friendly target you have selected not including yourself.  This means that we should leave this unchecked, because we want to know when WE are the ones being silenced.

Enemy Target means the effect is on an enemy target we have selected.  This should be unchecked as well for this event.

Now we are going to enter the text of the debuff.  The text can be the entire name or only part of it.  For our example, all silence effects have the actual word "Silence" in them.  A priest's silence is simply called Silence, a mage's is called "Counterspell - Silenced", etc.  So for this example, we just type in "Silence" and any debuff that has the phrase "Silence" as part of it will trigger this event.

Ignore uppercase just means it doesn't care if Silence is uppercase or lowercase.  Might as well leave it as is.

Show When Not Active simply means it will show the event when we do NOT have this debuff.  Since we only want to see it when we are silenced, we leave this unchecked.

Only if in combat means it will only show this when we are in combat.  Not important for us.  Only if not in combat does the exact opposite (dur).

Animation

Clicking on Animation brings up the Animation tab.  Here you can make the graphic do a little animation while it's active.  Nice for style points, or you can make it a bit more visible to yourself.  You can play around with these options and it'll show you visibly what it will do to the animation.  For my own settings, I used Zoom Out as the Begin Animation, None for the End Animation, Pulse for the Main Animation, Invisible for the SEcondary Animation, 100% for the Animation Speed, and 0 seconds for the Animation Duration (which just sets it to however long the silence is).

Now let's go to the Timer section.

Timer

Timer allows you to display a timer of the duration of the effect.  This would be really handy for us, as we want to know how long we have until we can cast again.  Click Show to show the timer, then use the sliders to position/size it just like we did with the graphic itself.  Play with the sliders to see what the timer will look like.

For my own settings, I have Position X at 0, Position Y at 50, Size at 1.0, Opacity at 1.0, and Show Hundredth checked.

And that's it!  Now whenever you're silenced, you'll see a nice big SILENCE across your screen to alert you and show you how long you have until you can cast again.
